Buried in a forgotten cave and lost for thousands of years, The Dead Sea Scrolls came back into history in 1947 when several of them were discovered by a Bedouin sheep herder who was throwing rocks. Though he thought them worthless at first, scholars came to see them as invaluable clues to unlocking the ancient world of Israel. Some media outlets have claimed that the scrolls undermine the Christian message or paint unexpected pictures of Jewish religion. Now after more than a half a century of examination by scholars from around the world, the truth about the Dead Sea Scrolls can be told. Let scholar Craig Evans guide you into a fuller understanding of the DSS and their importance.

This book, The Dead Sea Scrolls is a visually-driven yet content-rich reference providing a thorough overview of the Dead Sea Scrolls from esteemed professor and biblical archaeology expert Evans. You'll explore the scrolls' importance for Christianity; how and where they were discovered; who wrote them; their contents; dates of authorship; and more.
